History of Jack Wills

Jack Wills, the world renowned University Outfitters brand with the iconic tagline 'Fabulously British', launched in 1999 and now operates an internationally recognised brand with over 80 stores opened worldwide. Founded by friends Peter Williams and Robert Shaw in Salcombe, Devon, Jack Wills aims to 'bottle what being at a British University was all about' and markets what has been described as preppy clothing based the core ideas of Britishness that are familiar to customers all over the world.

Selling clothes for 'gentlemen' in extra small to extra large, and for 'ladies' in sizes 6 to 14, Jack Wills brings a little bit of English University culture to anyone and everyone around the world; an idea reflected in everything they do, from the designs themselves to the layout and locations of their stores. With a strong emphasis on tradition, heritage and quality garments, the brand supports British manufacturing and works with many varied charities each year including special support for Malaria No More, a UK based charity that provide mosquito nets, vaccinations and preventative education for impoverished communities in a range of developing countries.

Taking inspiration from both old and new, while retaining the core design elements of the peculiarly British style that make their clothes recognisable around the globe, Jack Wills markets sports inspired casual fashion, including rugby tops, premium track suits and smart casual polo shirts. This innovative mix of old timey Britishness and modern prep culture has clearly hit a rich vein in the international consumer consciousness, and their brand only goes from strength to strength.

Jack Wills has a deep rooted commitment to customer style, and publishes bi-yearly look books with outfit ideas for the discerning shopper. In 2009 they launched a new sister website, called Jack Wills Outlet. Selling discounted clothes from past ranges, and also vintage pieces, Jack Wills Outlet is regularly updated with great offers on standard Jack Will's quality clothing. As an accompanying experience to the main site, Jack Will's Outlet is always a good shout for any online bargain hunter. They also intermittently offer past customers discounts via their email newsletter, and also run voucher codes that can often be found on our site. Jack Wills also offers a discount of 15% on any purchase to all current and previous Armed Forces members in the UK, although this discount is only currently available in store. They also take part in the national NUS scheme giving discounts to any student with a valid NUS card, currently set at 15%.

Opening Times

Jack Wills operates over 80 stores globally, including thirty in the UK and five in the London area. Most stores are open every day from 9am to 6pm, except Sundays when they operate from 11am to 5pm, although it is worth checking individual stores via their website as these may be subject to change.

Delivery Information

Jack Wills' delivery costs £4 for three to five working days standard delivery to anywhere in the UK, with collection free in store. Deliveries over £60 are free to UK destinations and the standard fee for international deliveries is £12, although it would be advisable to check their website for a full list of countries they deliver to before placing an order.

Returns Policy

Refunds are available on unwanted items (which might be too small, too big or an unwanted gift), as long as they are undamaged and accompanied by the receipt, within 28 days of the order arriving. As with most UK stores, leggings, tights and both men's and women's underwear cannot be refunded for hygiene reasons, unless the item is faulty and returned unopened. Swimwear may be returned, as long as the hygiene strip is intact. Faulty, damaged or missing deliveries are encouraged to be taken up with customer services department whose number can be found on their website, before posting back accompanied by a cover letter detailing the fault.
