History of Robert Dyas
Robert Dyas is one of the leading suppliers in the UK for everything for the home and garden, including appliances, power tools and outdoor furniture. The company has a rich history of excellent customer service with over 140 years in business. The first shop was opened in 1872 by Robert Dyas, who had emigrated from County Meath in Ireland with only £5 to put into his new venture. From such humble beginnings he built up an empire of 18 stores by the time he passed away.
The chain has faced many severe challenges over the years including the slump after World War I and the loss of its head office, warehouse and 18 shops in the Blitz of World War II. The head office in Croydon was also destroyed by fire in 1997, but each time the tenacious spirit that has endured since Robert Dyas invested his first fiver has meant the company has bounced back with fresh enthusiasm. There are now 95 stores right across the South of England. Former Dragon, Theo Paphitis, took over the chain in July 2012.
Robert Dyas offers great value for money to its customers, and there are even more savings available by using the voucher codes which are often available for things like discounts and free returns.

Delivery Information
Free delivery is available for orders over £50 simply by entering a code. Various other charges apply depending on where you live and when you want to receive your order. For the mainland UK, it's £2.95 for standard delivery, or £7.95 for the Highlands & Scottish Isles and £9.95 for Northern Ireland. You can also choose next day, named day or Saturday deliveries for a higher charge, although next day and free delivery are not available outside mainland UK. Next day orders must be placed by 2pm, Monday to Friday. If you have ordered heavier or bulkier products, the charge is £15 for standard or named day mainland delivery or £25 for the Highlands & Islands and Northern Ireland and Saturday delivery in the UK.
You're required to enter a valid email address when ordering so you can keep track of your items. A confirmation email will be sent upon dispatch, including a tracking number and a link to the courier's website.
You can also opt for the click and collect service whereby your items will be sent to one of 40 stores, for you to pick up in the following seven days.
Returns Policy
You can return your order within 28 days following your delivery as long as it's sent back unused and in its original packaging. You must notify customer service via post, phone or email. It is up to you to cover the cost of return, and Robert Dyas will issue a Returns Merchandise Authorisation (RMA) number and instructions. Items will be inspected before a refund is issued. If the item is faulty or damaged upon receipt, you have up to one year to return it for a full refund or exchange.
Security & Reviews
Robert Dyas now offers Visa and Mastercard Secure Code when shopping on its website. You have to register on the code provider's website to receive a personal code that you enter at checkout, effectively an online version of chip & PIN security. Your bank will issue a pop-up window on the Robert Dyas checkout, giving you the opportunity to register if you haven't already done so.
Trustpilot features a few uncomplimentary reviews from dissatisfied Robert Dyas customers, but this shouldn't be taken as a reflection on the overall quality of service as there are many happy customers who don't feel obliged to offer feedback.
