History of Purple Parking
Purple Parking is one of the UK's largest providers of airport parking and transport to airport terminals at competitive prices. The company owns several car parks nationwide, including parks that cater for the busiest UK airports, Gatwick and Heathrow.
Purple Parking was initially a Park and Ride service to and from Heathrow Airport, enabling a cheap and reliable service for those flying. In 1990, Purple Parking (then Secure Storage) was expanded by Michael Inwards and Ken Rayne. At this time the business comprised of 12 employees and three buses. Because of the demand from businessmen, Secure Storage built a loyal customer base, and even branched out into a Meet and Greet service that collected and returned vehicles to the customer at the airport.
In 2000, 10 years after the business's birth and after expansion in employee and bus numbers, Secure Storage changed its name to Purple Parking, which the company deemed had more branding opportunity. In 2002, Purple Parking expanded further and was able to offer booking facilities for all major UK airports.
Purple Parking now employs over 650 staff but still remains a family affair, and as a recognition of its quality and security, the company has received the ParkMark Award. Its popularity is demonstrated by its large customer base, since Purple Parking has over one million customers every year. Furthermore, Purple Parking rewards those customers who are loyal, as shown by the introduction of their members' club in 1995, offering discounts and benefits. Alongside rewarding loyal customers, Purple Parking offer many deals and discounts for bookings made at specific times or locations, for new and existing customers alike.
Purple Parking has recently expanded into offering other discounted travel essentials such as attraction tickets, destination transfers, airport lounges, car hire, travel insurance, secure bag tags, bag transportation and travel money. Purple Parking also offers wide ranging travel advice.

Security & Reviews
Purple Parking details its security measures regarding your car and your online bookings on purpleparking.com.
The company's security procedures are evaluated annually, and as an acknowledgement of their safety, Purple Parking has been presented the ParkMark award. The security of the customer's car is of most importance to Purple Parking, who use CCTV, entry gates, 24 hour security guards and floodlighting in their car parks.
However, Purple Parking advises customers to shut all windows of their vehicle and turn off any lights and electrical equipment. Purple Parking also takes no liability or responsibility for any loose items left in customers' vehicles. All drivers at Purple Parking are comprehensively insured to drive customers' vehicles, which are fully covered by Purple Parking's insurance.
Purple Parking keeps your details secure online, as shown by their validation by Verisign. purpleparking.com uses Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology by encrypting and scrambling your data so that it is of no use to anyone else.
Purple Parking has averaged 8.2/10 (Great) from 394 user reviews on TrustPilot. While 67.3% of reviews receive 5/5 stars, it is worth noting that there are a number of negative reviews that have also been left. However, it is often found that customers who encounter a negative experience are more likely to leave reviews, so the average could be misleading.
