History Of Levis
Levi Strauss & Co. was founded in 1853 by Levi Strauss, a German immigrant who came to America during the California Gold Rush. Initially, Strauss opened a wholesale dry goods business in San Francisco. In 1873, he and tailor Jacob Davis patented the idea of using copper rivets to strengthen the points of strain on pants, creating the iconic blue jeans.
