History Of Cathay Pacific
Cathay Pacific was founded on 24 September 1946 in Hong Kong by American Roy Farrell and Australian Sydney de Kantzow. The airline started with a single Douglas DC-3 named "Betsy" which is now a permanent exhibit in the Hong Kong Science Museum. Initially, the routes were primarily between Hong Kong and Manila, Bangkok, Singapore, and Shanghai. In the decades that followed, Cathay Pacific expanded significantly. By the late 1960s, it had introduced jet services to streamline and expand its international reach. Through the following decades, Cathay Pacific continued to grow and modernize its fleet, establishing itself as a leading international airline. The airline now operates passenger and cargo services to various destinations globally, spanning across Asia, Europe, North America, and Australasia.
