History Of Bonmarche
Bonmarché, a renowned British fashion retailer, was established in 1982 by Parkash Singh Chima. The company originally began as a dress shop with the name "Butterfly" in Doncaster. It later rebranded to "Bonmarché," inspired by a Parisian department store, which means "cheap" or "good deal” in French. The company experienced rapid growth and by the 1990s, had expanded significantly across the UK. Bonmarché was acquired by the Peacock Group in 2002, and went through several ownership changes over the years. Despite facing financial challenges, including administration in 2019, the company has remained strong and continues to serve its loyal customer base.
